The Bookbug Picture Book Prize and the Scottish Teenage Book Prize encourage children and young people to vote for their favourite Scottish books. The picture books are given out in the Bookbug Primary 1 Family Bag to every child in P1 in Scotland, and the voting process encourages understanding of democracy, citizenship and the fun of reading.
The Scottish Teenage Book Prize showcases the most interesting writing for teens coming out of Scotland each year, appealing to a sometimes challenging demographic and spreading a love of books to teenagers.
