Children’s Jury – Kinder- en Jeugdjury (Belgium)

The Children’s Jury is the biggest reading group in the country. Large numbers of children are actively involved. In order to vote, they have to read a list of ten books. With the support of an extensive network of adult volunteers, they talk about their reading with their peers. These young readers acquire an increasing ability to form an opinion on books and they shape their literary taste. This means that the Children’s Jury prize, which is awarded in May of each year, is more than just a popularity prize.

This project is run by Iedereen Leest, Flanders (Belgium).
